Mighty Networks review

Community, courses, and livestreams in one app, paid through your own Stripe account.

Verdict

Mighty Networks suits creators who want community, courses, and livestreams in one place and want to keep their members. Launch costs $95 a month, or $79 billed annually, plus a 2% transaction fee and Stripe's charges. It costs a little less than Circle, but integrations like Zapier wait for the $215 Scale plan.

What works

  • Web payments go into your own Stripe account.
  • Custom domain on every plan and unlimited spaces.
  • Livestreaming, quizzes, and cohort courses on the Launch plan.
  • Member export with names and emails from Launch up.

What doesn't

  • 2% transaction fee on Launch, with Stripe's fees on top.
  • Zapier, Kit, and Google Analytics integrations start at $215 a month.
  • Launch includes 100 livestream viewers. Raising that to 1,000 costs $75 a month extra.
  • Branded apps only on custom-priced Mighty Pro.

How much does Mighty Networks take?

Mighty Networks takes 2% of each web sale on Launch, 1% on Scale, and 0.5% on Growth, and Stripe's processing fee comes out separately. Mighty's help center puts Stripe's fee at 2.5% to 5% per transaction. Stripe's standard US card rate is 2.9% + $0.30.

Members never see Mighty's fee. It comes out of the amount that lands in your connected Stripe account.

On a $30 monthly membership on Launch, that is about $1.77 per payment before the $95 plan price. Scale at $215 a month only pays off above $12,000 a month in sales, and Growth's 0.5% only beats Scale above about $42,000 a month.

iOS app purchases work differently. Mighty's help center says Apple takes 15%, Mighty adds no fee, and Stripe charges nothing, and you can set a higher iOS price to cover Apple's cut. See the fee table for take-home pay at each revenue level.

An Explore plan at $35 a month, or $29 a month billed annually, carries a 5% fee. It does not appear on the main pricing page, it has no courses, and member names and emails in exports need Launch or above, so treat Explore as a test plan.

What do you get on the Launch plan?

Launch includes unlimited members and spaces, courses, events, chat, livestreaming, quizzes, and apps for iOS, Android, and the web. It allows 3 hosts and 10 moderators, 200GB of storage, 20 streaming hours a month, and 100 viewers per stream. Engagement Boosts raise viewers to 500, 1,000, or 3,000 for $35, $75, or $225 a month extra.

The limits that bite are integrations. Zapier, Kit, affiliate integrations, Google Analytics, and charging for one-time events all start on Scale. If your business runs on a CRM or email tool, budget for $215 a month.

Payments on Launch cover subscriptions and one-time payments, multiple tiers, installments, free trials, promo codes, and hundreds of currencies. Mighty's AI Cohost helps you design an offer and plan the community. Your own branded app requires Mighty Pro, which is custom-priced.

Do you own your members on Mighty Networks?

Yes, from the Launch plan up. Mighty's help center says you keep full ownership of content and member data, and Launch and above can download member data with names and emails as an Excel file.

Exports also work per space and per plan, so you can pull a list of the members who bought one specific offer.

Web payments go into your own connected Stripe account, and every plan includes a custom domain. iOS purchases are the exception. Apple pays Mighty in bulk, and Mighty deposits the money into your Stripe account about one month behind, after 8 to 12 weeks of processing.

Refunds are your call. You issue web refunds from your Stripe dashboard, Stripe keeps its processing fee, and members who bought in the iOS app have to ask Apple for a refund.

How does Mighty Networks compare with Circle and Skool?

Mighty Networks and Circle are close. Both take 2% on the entry plan, both use your own Stripe account, and both include a custom domain. Mighty is $4 a month cheaper on monthly billing, $10 cheaper on annual billing at $79 against $89, and has unlimited spaces where Circle's Professional plan includes 20 and charges $20 a month per 10 more.

Skool is cheaper and simpler, and it can send you members through Discovery. To get that, you give up your own domain, your own Stripe account, and a documented email export. See Skool vs Mighty Networks for the full breakdown.

Who should skip Mighty Networks?

Skip it if you earn under about $1,700 a month and want the lowest cost. Skool's Hobby plan at $9 plus 10% leaves you more money until then.

Skip it if you run long livestreams. Each stream is capped at 2 hours on every plan. Launch includes 100 viewers, and Engagement Boosts raise that to 1,000 for $75 a month extra or 3,000 for $225, but nothing lifts the 2-hour cap.

Skip it too if you need integrations on day one, since they start at $215 a month. And if all you need is a feed, a course library, and weekly calls, Skool covers that for less.
